For the SAKURAart homepage, our primary focus was to make the artwork itself the star.
We kept whitespace and backgrounds as simple as possible, arranging the paintings so their colors and worldview fill the entire screen.
Especially on the gallery page, while categorizing by technique—pastel, oil, acrylic—we designed the layout for visitors to intuitively enjoy browsing as if touring an exhibition.The chosen theme, “NUMERO,” appealed for its balance of design aesthetics that showcase works beautifully and large-scale, alongside functional ease in switching categories.
We aimed to create a site where visitors could feel “light, nature, and the warmth of life” through art, focusing intently on visual impact and artistic quality.
The homepage features a grid layout displaying diverse works across genres and techniques, delivering a strong impact to visitors. The simple yet sophisticated layout maximizes the appeal of the artworks, creating a design that evokes the feel of an actual gallery space, even online.
