Hōzenji

This is the website for Sōtō Sect Banryūzan Hōzenji Temple in Moka City, Tochigi Prefecture. They use

MIKADO

.

Originally, nine years ago, a local web design company created a custom homepage for them. However, the head priest was unable to update it after it was built, and it remained neglected for several years. Feeling a sense of urgency, when I finally began managing WordPress myself, I had zero knowledge about website creation. After updating the WordPress version, the theme we had originally used was incompatible, and the entire website went completely blank. My mind went blank too, but

once I realized the theme was incompatible, I started searching for a high-quality theme I could create and manage myself. I purchased MIKADO, convinced its beauty and TCD’s support system were ideal for creating a temple website, and began development.

Since I was developing the temple newsletter simultaneously with the website, I focused on arranging articles for easy readability to make the site function as owned media. I also wrote some sections in HTML where needed, though lacking expertise, I leveraged generative AI to ensure originality.

Many pages remain unfinished and some sections are incomplete, but I’m working to convey the temple’s atmosphere through photos and videos. Thank you for your understanding.

The first-view image slider captivates visitors with beautiful images conveying the temple’s charm. The vertical menu and framed logo image create a stylish impression, blending tradition and modernity.

>>A graceful Japanese aesthetic as the first impression. A front page that conveys power within its Japanese sensibility

Furthermore, the custom post type “History” clearly organizes the “Legends & Origins“. Learning about the temple’s history through these pages allows visitors to feel a deeper connection to the temple.

>>The custom post type “History” enables enlightenment through columns featuring accurate knowledge and teachings

Please take a look for reference in creating sites utilizing MIKADO.
